Optimising clinician and patient engagement and supporting system-wide virtual models to drive tangible population health benefits and reduce system pressures

From preventative measures all the way through to recovery, virtual care could be a game changer in managing patient and population health. Accelerated by the pandemic, healthcare providers are now looking beyond delivering virtual wards and hospital at home services, to embed virtual care across multiple clinical pathways.

The inaugural HSJ Virtual Care Forum took place in June 2024. The event provided 150+ senior primary, secondary and social care professionals a platform to discuss how to maximise performance of the national virtual ward rollout, and look beyond it to proactively meet the evolving demands of the system and the patient. Discussions focused on both short term strategies to build and scale virtual services and the long term preventative strategies.
