Deputy Director of Strategy and Transformation,
NHS Gloucestershire

Gemma is the Deputy Director for Strategy and Transformation within Gloucestershire ICB. She leads on clinical programmes across whole pathway areas to improve outcomes in a range of long term conditions such as diabetes, respiratory, cancer and CVD. She also leads on the healthy communities and individuals work – which focuses on disease prevention and improving health and wellbeing at a community level through close partnership working with the voluntary and community sector, districts and public health.

Gemma is a physiotherapist by background and has worked in the NHS for 25 years having worked clinically and in operational management within musculoskeletal health services before moving into contracting and transformation roles at a system level. She has experience in contracting and procurement as well as leading on a range of transformation and improvement projects at a system level. She has a passion for improving outcomes for patients, promoting better health and self-management and working in an integrated way across systems to achieve this.
